Multi-User Account Computer

When you log in on a multi-user account computer, the Default Domain ID, and if specified, the Preferred ARS Address and Forced ARS Address, are propagated to your user id.

If you are a member of the Administrators group of the computer, you can change these settings. This option is limited to computer Administrators because this information is stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and you must be an Administrator to write to this key.

If you are not a member of the computer Administrators group, the CygNet Domain Connection utility will only allow you to edit the user information from HKEY_CURRENT_USER, which is the Domain List and Last ARS information. It will not allow you to edit the Default Domain ID, the Preferred ARS address, or the Forced ARS address, since that information is stored in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

See CygNet and User Account Control for more information about using CygNet Domain Connection utility with UAC turned on.
